New school in Afghanistan
The only one school present in the Farza district, a rural area north of Kabul, was abandoned and destroyed 2 years ago when the Taliban were occupying that region. We demolished the old “Sahra Farzahee School” ruins and built a new 2 floors building that will enrol 900 students in our WHF Quality Education Project in 2021.

FOOD DISTRIBUTION

After the fire that destroyed the entire camp of Moria in September 2020, included our old school, our refugee staff, in collaboration with Team Humanity ngo, helped with food and first aid materials distribution to the refugees that were living on the street and inside the Olive Grove. We also regularly distribute food to our refugee teachers and students.

MEN/FEMALE VOLLEYBALL & FOOTBALL TEAMS

Sport is a cure for the body and for the mind. We think sport is a very important activity for our students and we started men and female teams of volleyball and football in the camps of Malakasa, Ritsona and Nea Kavala.

COVID AWARENESS TEAM

Our team of refugee teachers regularly walks inside the camp to spread awareness on Covid-19 and to distribute masks, antiseptic gel and other personal protective equipment to refugees.

THEATER FOR KIDS

In collaboration with Boat Refugee Foundation, ELIL and Defence for Children International ngos our staff made a theatre project to explain children in Moria how the asylum procedure works in Greece and to give children general tips for everyday life inside the camp.

ON-LINE LEARNING

We want to start offering online classes to our students, providing them education when they or their teachers get relocated to other camps or cannot come to class because of anti-Covid protocols. Online workshops, in collaboration with European universities and schools will also be possible through this project.

ART LAB AND MEDIA ACTIVITIES IN LESVOS

After our school in Lesvos was burned down during the fire that destroyed the Moria camp in September 2020, we have relocated our main language classes and other educational activities inside the One Happy Family premises. We now need to set up a dedicated and calm space for our art and media activities near the new refugee camp in Lesvos.
